Meet the Director | Joshua Cahir
Joshua is an enthusiastic, driven Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) specialising in the prevention, treatment and ongoing management of chronic disease, complex conditions and injuries in the Ballarat community. As an AEP, Joshua is a University trained Allied Health professional with the knowledge, skills and competencies to design, deliver and evaluate safe and effective clinical exercise interventions.
AEPs are the experts when it comes to exercise prescription for a range of Cardiopulmonary, Metabolic, Neuromuscular and Musculoskeletal pathologies/conditions. These include the following: Cardiovascular Disease, Diabetes, Osteoporosis, Cancer, Cerebral Palsy, Parkinson’s Disease, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Chronic Pain and many more.
Joshua has a particular interest in chronic disease management, musculoskeletal rehabilitation and athletic development coming from a diverse sports background. He specialises in supporting post-surgical rehabilitation patients including ACL reconstruction, total knee/hip replacements, and soft tissue repair. He continues to stay up to date with the best practice guidelines to help achieve optimal patient outcomes.
In addition, AEP interventions also provide physical activity and health education, advice/ongoing support, and lifestyle modification with a large focus on achieving positive and sustainable behavioural change.
